9th Asian Film Awards

It has been a year and the most exciting Asian film awards ceremony is about to happen again. On March 25th in Macao AFA 2015, “The Oscars of Asia” will celebrate cinematic excellence achieved throughout the year.

The 9th AFA’s diverse jury panel consists of 14 acclaimed experts from 9 different countries, including France’s Christian Jeune, Cannes Film Festival selector, and Italy’s Alberto Barbera, chief of the Venice International Film Festival.Renowned director, Mabel Cheung will preside over this year’s jury panel, welcoming one Hong Kong’s “Four Heavenly Kings,” Aaron Kwok, as the celebrity judge.

The Asian Film Awards 2015 recognizes and celebrates outstanding achievement across 14 categories with a pool of 74 nominations representing 42 films from 8 countries across Asia. The list of nominees for Best Film includes critically-acclaimed blockbusters that have already gained worldwide recognition for their achievements, such as China’s Black Coal, Thin Ice took home the Golden Bear at the 64th International Film Festival in Berlin, South Korean film Hill of Freedomwas screened to immense praise from critics at the New York Film Festival, The Golden Era (Mainland China, Hong Kong) and The Light Shines Only There (Japan).
